Om artisten

"Monique is every inch a nordic goddes, easily reaching into the essence of her being to convey an almost shamanic presence." -Zisakudutse Festival

With a heartfelt and intimate presence, Monique Mai has been called everything from a Nordic goddess to doomsday prophet.
With her intense, vulnerable compositions she delivers her commentary on a wide range of topics from the existential through to everyday experiences with both boldness and tenderness.
Accompanied by her guitar, her harmonica and Lars Baunkilde on bass, she gives the troubadour spirit new life. Monique Mai has been a familiar face on the music scene both in her native Denmark and internationally, in the US, Asia and Europe.

"The haunting tones and spaces between a double bass and acoustic guitar created the heights and depths straddled by a sensual lone vocal. Monique is every inch a nordic goddess, easily reaching into the essence of her being to convey an almost shamanic presence."
-Zisakudutse Festival
